Tomme de Chartreuse

One of our favorite cheeses.

The Chartreuse massif lies at the foot of the Pre-Alps, mainly in Isère and partly in Savoie.
At the Plantimay farm, the Francillon family produces some of the region’s best-known cheeses, such as Saint-Marcellin and Saint-Félicien, as well as magnificent little cow’s tommes that have amazed us ever since we discovered them.
Similar to the neighboring Tomme de Savoie, but without the earthiness, it is also distinguished by a fruitiness that offers delicacy, elegance and typicality. Care in the cellars gives it a light brown color, covered with attractive white and yellow molds. The rind is also engraved with a cow, giving it a rupestrian air.
